About Asian Integration Initiatives

The Asian Integration Initiative is inspired by the civilizational ethos of Asia — emphasizing human primacy, truth, and spiritual reflection. Rooted in ancient wisdom and modern aspirations, it seeks to align cultural and philosophical heritage with contemporary leadership needs.

This Initiative is committed to:

  • Promoting educational and cultural exchanges across Asian societies
  • Strengthening economic and developmental linkages for sustainable growth
  • Building a shared platform of global leadership

It affirms that the time has come to implement the vision once articulated by Asia’s thinkers, sages, and leaders — a vision of a unified Asia, contributing to the enrichment of global civilization.

Vision & Concept Note

The idea of Asian unity has deep historical roots.

  • In 1903, Japanese scholar Okakura Kakuzo proclaimed: “Asia is One.”
  • Thinkers like Prof. Gunnar Myrdal (Europe) and Kenichi Ohmae (Japan) reinforced this idea.
  • During WWII, Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, as Head of the Provisional Government of Free India, advanced the concept of Asiatic integration. This was supported by leaders including Hideki Tojo (Japan), Wang Jingwei (China), and Ba Maw (Burma). The Great East Asia Conference of 1943 formally resolved to work towards Asian unity.

Philosophical Foundation:
Asia has long embodied unique civilizational traits — the primacy of human spirit, the quest for truth, and deep reflection. These traits make Asia uniquely positioned to lead the global integration narrative. During World War II, Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose spearheaded the first formal initiative, promoting Asiatic integration. Leading the Provisional Government of Free India (Arzi Hukumat-e-Azad Hind), Bose garnered support from allied leaders and governments across Asia and beyond, including Hideki Tōjō of Japan, Zhang Jinghui of Manchukuo, Wang Jingwei of the Reorganized National Government of the Republic of China, Ba Maw of Burma, José P. Laurel of the Philippines, Prince Wan Waithayakon of Thailand, and other regional figures. The 1943 Great East Asia Conference produced a resolution that stood as the era’s most significant collective effort by the seven participating nations.

The Vedic Ideal:
Anchored in the wisdom of the Vedic seers:
“Let your resolve be one, your hearts be one, and your minds be one, so that all may act in harmony.”

This dictum remains at the heart of the Asian Integration Initiative, aligning collective intent and action for a borderless Asia.

समानी व आकूति: समाना ह्रदयानि व:। समानमस्तु वो मनो यथा व: सुसहासति॥ samānī va ākūti: samānā hradayāni va:। samānamastu vo mano yathā va: susahāsati॥

[Time has arrived now to actually implement the cherished thoughts of Vedic Sages echoed 20 thousand years ago and now in the world for the realistic benefit and growth for human civilization]
